The Adopt a Park/Planter is a program offered through the City of Sanger Public Works Department. The program allows citizens, groups, and businesses the opportunity to contribute to the beautification of the City of Sanger. The City has 16 parks located throughout the City with various levels of amenities and landscaping. The City also has some planter areas located downtown that are available to be adopted.
Citizens, groups, and businesses may adopt a park or planter in which they plant and maintain the flowers/greenery. An entire park can be adopted or just particular area within parks such as playgrounds and basketball courts. With the adoption of a park or planter, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the area, litter removal, and the removal of any green waste.
The planter areas are located on the corners of or in front of businesses and parks. A majority of the planters are located in the Downtown area on 7th Street between O Street and Academy Avenue. The parks are located throughout Sanger.

There must be a designated responsible person over the age of 21 affiliated with the organization or individual in order to participate.
There is no cost to participate in this program. In order to participate in this exciting and rewarding program, you must first complete the Adopt A Park/Planter Program Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) (PDF). The form must be submitted to the Public Works Department (1700 7th Stree). The signed form will be reviewed with staff members for each specific site and assistance and direction will be given prior to approval.

Bring the following into our office so our staff can verify your identity and validity as an authorized signer on that account:
If your bank account is enrolled two days before the due date on your bill, your payment will be withdrawn the following month. If enrolled after the due date, your payment will be withdrawn two months later.
If your card is enrolled before the due date on your bill, your payment will be withdrawn the same month. If enrolled after the due date, your payment will be withdrawn the following month. Depending on your financial institution, you may see a $1 preauthorization hold to confirm the validity of your account. This preauthorization hold will drop off within 1 to 2 business days.
You will have to go through the same process as did you when you initially signed up. Please review the registration instructions for details. Once you update your bank account, it will automatically cancel your previous account.
If you registered using your credit card, you will receive an email informing you of the success or failure of your payment. If you registered using your bank account, you will be contacted via telephone only if your payment was not successfully withdrawn.

It will look exactly the same; with the exception that there will be a new line added indicating that your account is enrolled in automatic payments and the date the automatic payment process will withdraw your monthly payment.
Yes, there is a return fee of $12.
No. If your payment is returned for any reason, the automatic payment service will be removed from your account. There will also be a one year waiting period before you can re-enroll.
You must contact our office two days before your automatic payment is withdrawn to stop the automatic payment process.
If enrolled using your bank account, you may at anytime bring in to our office a signed letter stating you would like to discontinue automatic payments. If you have more than one utility account, please specify which account you would like to stop automatic payments.

Please be prepared with specific information, such as the address of the property, a short description of the possible violation. Complaints may be made anonymously, however, this may restrict Code Enforcement's ability to do a follow-up on the complaint or our ability to obtain additional information that we might need to resolve the situation.
Code Enforcement tries to respond to all complaints within 24 hours, however, some situations that may arise that pose a serious risk to health and safety are given priority and may delay in responding to some complaints.
For all types of code complaints, the first step in addressing the complaint is an inspection by the officer to see if any code violations actually exist, and if so, a written notice will be sent. The process of each notice depends on the violation, some indicting more time than others but most written notices come with a courtesy, first and final notice. If the individual response for the violation appears unwilling to correct or comply, the officer will attempt to make contact before starting a citation process.
In most cases, the individual responsible for the code violation is given the opportunity to voluntarily correct the situation and comply with the code without any penalty. If the correction is not made, then the individual may be cited and administration fees assessed.

A 72 hour tag indicates that a vehicle is:
1. Stored on the street with expired registration
2. In nuisance condition on the street. (Dirty, cob webs, flat tires, etc.)
Any vehicle that gets tagged needs to be completely removed from the street.
Trash cans need to be placed behind a fence or enclosure after trash pick up days. They may not be stored in the front nor the side of the property unless screened from public view.

The required “Incident Report Request Form” must be completed and submitted to The Sanger Fire Department by either faxing to 559-875-6611 or emailing the Fire Department. Please allow approximately 7 to10 calendar days for processing. Should a report be available, the fee is $15. Checks can be made payable to the City of Sanger. Effective August 1, 2018, The City of Sanger’s Paramedic Billing is handled in-house. You can reach our Ambulance Billing Department at 559-399-8013 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The City of Sanger does not allow burning of any kind in the City limits. If you are outside of Sanger City limits, please refer to Air Pollution Control by calling 559-230-6000 or by visiting the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District website.

Carbon Monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is produced from heaters, fireplaces, furnaces, and many types of appliances and cooking devices. It can also be produced by vehicles that are idling.
They should be installed outside each sleeping area and on every level of the home including the basement. The manufacturers’ installation instruction should also be followed.
First and foremost, stay calm. As mentioned previously most situations resulting in activation of a carbon monoxide detector are not life-threatening and do not require calling 911.
To determine the need to call 911, ask the following question of everyone in the household:
If the answer to the above by anyone in the household is true, evacuate the household to a safe location and have someone call 911.
Both battery-powered and house current powered smoke detectors do a good job. Make sure the one you choose has been tested by a nationally recognized testing laboratory.
There should be at least one detector in every occupied bedroom and one on every floor of the house except attics unless the attic space is used for sleeping. Additional detectors will increase the chance of early detection.
Smoke detectors should be placed near bedrooms either on the ceiling at least 6 to 12 inches away from the wall or on the wall, 6 to 12 inches down from the ceiling. This allows the detector to sense the smoke as it approaches the sleeping area.
Battery operated detectors can be attached directly to the ceiling or wall. Wired-in electric detectors are somewhat more difficult to install and may require an electrician.
The notice is a courtesy reminder sent by the Fire Departments Community Risk Reduction Bureau to owners of vacant parcels within the City of Sanger reminding them that the cut down date is April 15th each year. Starting on April 15th, the Fire Department will be conducting inspections on the vacant properties. Properties not in compliance with the City Municipal Code and the California Fire Code will be issued a citation and an official Notice of Violation for compliance. After 10 days, if the lot is still not in compliance, the City of Sanger will have its contractor abate the problem and the property owner will be billed.

Explain why it should be exempted. Parcels cannot arbitrarily be exempted.
The property will be cleared by the contractor and the property owner will incur all costs for the Abatement Procedure per Municipal Code 8.56.
The City's cost to clear a parcel will be high compared to what the cost would be private. The cost of city abatements is set by a contract agreement. An Administrative fee is then attached to the contractor’s costs.
At times, the records available are not always up to date. The notice is sent to the Owner of Record listed on the last county assessment roll. Please let Sanger Fire Department know immediately if you no longer own the property by calling 555-876-6389. Any new owner information is appreciated.
The lot may not have been included in the Annual Weed Abatement Program because records indicated that a change in ownership was recorded after the Notice of Violation was issued. To obtain a copy of a police report you will need to fill out a request for information form and turn it in to our Records Department. It can take up to 10 days to process the request after the form has been turned in. The cost of a police report is $5.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. You must be at least 16 years old to do a ride along. Print out the Ride Along Form, fill it out, make sure it is signed and bring it in to the Police Department. Once your form has been processed, you will be contacted by the Watch Commander.

The City of Sanger accepts compost and green waste at the City Corporation Yard. The Corporation Yard is located at 333 North Avenue (east of Academy Avenue - follow the signs).
The cost is $10 per load, i.e, half ton truck bed or trailer under 16 feet. There is no limit on the number of loads, and no appointment is necessary.

This service is available to residents inside the City limits and a current City of Sanger utility bill and identification is required.
You can prepay at City Hall (1700 7th Street) with cash, check or credit card.
You will receive a voucher per $10 fee prepaid. You must present the voucher to staff at the time of arrival at the Corporation Yard.
If you do not present a prepaid voucher, a $10 fee per load will be added to your utility bill.
Sanger Paint Supply, Inc, located at 730 N Street is our local drop-off center for used paint. For alternate locations, please visit PaintCare to search other locations near you.
We appreciate your assistance with keeping old paint out of our landfills - please do not dispose of any paint using your trash receptacles.
The City of Sanger trash and recycling service is contracted through Mid Valley Disposal who provide our residents sturdy, easy-to-use wheeled containers. On occasion, a wheel or lid may be damaged during use.

With the severe drought conditions in California and as the Sanger City Council has declared a Stage 2 of the City's water conservation program, permits for car wash fundraising activities have been temporarily suspended.
