The City of Sanger is accepting applications to fill six (6) seats on the Sanger Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. One of the seats will be designated for a high school or college-aged young woman (from the ages of 16-24). The purpose of this Commission will work to identify issues that could improve the quality of life and advance the issues that impact women and girls, particularly those who have been traditionally marginalized or underrepresented, and develop recommendations for the Sanger City Council. The Commission will provide a mechanism for the City of Sanger to consider strategies to offer support to women and their families in our community and overcome immediate and long-term adverse impacts, economic and otherwise caused by COVID-19, such as inflation in the economy. Information collected by this Commission will also be used to inform the Statewide California Blueprint for Recovery.
The Commission on the Status of Women and Girls meeting dates, times, and location are still to be determined.
Applications are available at the City of Sanger City Clerk’s Office, 1700 7th Street, Sanger, California 93657 or online at www.cityofsanger.net.
The application period ends at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 28, 2022.
