Sanger the nations christmas Tree City General Grant

Sanger, Calif. (August 12, 2020) – The City of Sanger is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Police Chief.  Greg Garner has been selected following an extensive search and interview process. Mr. Garner was selected based on his broad law enforcement experience and education that focused on organizational leadership and criminal justice. He plans to jump right in and hit the ground running in his new position as the Sanger Police Chief, focusing on developing community relationships early on so that he can better understand the current issues Sanger is facing. He also plans on building on the current strengths, successes and organization of the Sanger Police Department as well as bringing fresh ideas to improve the performance of the organization and the City.

Greg Garner is a 34-year veteran of the City of Fresno Police Department, in addition to his 6 years as the Selma Police Chief. Mr. Garner grew up locally in Madera. He has a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from CSU Fresno. Mr. Garner is also a graduate of the POST Command College.
