City Manager

Greg Garner was appointed to the position of Interim City Manager by the Sanger City Council on September 7, 2023, beginning his duties on September 9, 2023.  As the Chief Executive Officer of the City, he is responsible for the City’s budget and over 100 employees.

The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Sanger appointed by the City Council. The mission of the City Manager's Office is to provide a vision for the future and enhance the quality of life for the community. The City Manager's Office provides the overall management of the City, facilitation of the City Council policy and support for the individual members of the City Council, and coordination of official functions and activities.


Duties delegated and assigned to the City Manager by the City Council include, but are not limited to:

  • Enforcement of laws
  • Personnel Officer
  • Preparation of annual budget
  • Oversight of financial activities
  • Intergovernmental relations
  • Oversight of all City offices, Department, and community relations
