Receives $230,258 Tobacco Grant Award
The California Department of Justice has recently announced the awarding of Tobacco Grants to entities across the state. The City of Sanger Police Department is one of the recipients and has been awarded grant funds in the amount of $230,258. These funds are the result of the passage of Proposition 56 in 2016, referred to as the Tobacco Tax Increase initiative. The Police Department intends to use the funds towards enforcement efforts and programs focusing on tobacco-use prevention and reduction amongst local youth.
