Sanger Fire Department's Community Risk Reduction Bureau
The Sanger Fire Department's Community Risk Reduction Bureau reaches out to the community in various forums to educate the public with regard to fire safety and other safety issues. Presentations are made throughout the community on a variety of safety issues including home and workplace fire safety, disaster preparedness, proper use of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors.
Tours are available Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and are approximately 45 minutes to one hour in length.
Learn how to use a fire extinguisher (hands-on). Understand the difference between the various types of extinguishers.
Each elementary class within Sanger is offered a 30-minute presentation on fire and safety and includes an Engine visit. The themes of the presentation can be:
Crawl low to avoid smoke
Exit the home immediately
Have a home fire escape plan and practice it
Have a safe meeting place
If your clothes were on fire: stop, drop and roll
In case of an emergency: dial 911
Know two ways out of each room
To inquire about scheduling a Fire Safety Program for your organization, a request must be made at least two weeks prior to the event. Every attempt is made to accommodate all requests, but due to training or other department responsibilities, not all requests can be approved.
